Malathi was paralysed from waist down when she was just one year old owing to the polio virus. Irrespective of all the problems ,Malathi has moved forward relentlessly pursuing track and field as her choice of sport to excel in.She has represented India in numerous countries including Beijing,Tokyo,Barcelona and The Asian games held in Bangkok,South Korea.
Malathi is known to be the fastest Indian female athlete on a wheelchair.In her lifetime, Malathi Krishnamurthy Holla has won 389 golds, 27 silvers and 5 bronzes at national and international events.
She also has The Arjuna award and The padma shri award under her cap.
Malathi has strived to inspire millions of people with her extraordinary diligence and talent and continues to do so.She has also established a charitable foundation,Mathru trust where she shelters and provides for the differently abled children.
With Malathi Krishnamurthy’s sheer determination and an endless amount of hope she has paved the way for the Indian para athletes.
