From a rickshaw driver’s daughter to Miss India 2020 runner up, Manya Singh’s emotional journey is truly one for the books. At a young age, she left her home in Uttar Pradesh to pursue her dreams in Mumbai.Her parents were supportive of her dreams and her father drove an auto for living. At 15, she watched the Miss India pageant for the first time and she knew that she wanted to win that crown someday. But despite her parents’ support, she still had to face other obstacles.Coming from a patriarchal family, she was discouraged from studying and working. However, her father encouraged her dream of being a model.She also faced rejection for her looks and  her english. She was often told she did not have a nice face. But Manya didn't let all these things stop her from doing what she wanted. And today, the rickshaw driver’s daughter wears a crown.
